JSON to XML Converter

Paste JSON and get neatly indented XML. Object keys become elements, arrays repeat the same tag for every item, and the whole result is wrapped in a single root element. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Is my JSON uploaded to a server?

No. This converter runs 100% in your browser — nothing is uploaded, there is no server call, and your data never leaves your device.

How is my JSON turned into elements?

Each object key becomes an element name and its value becomes the element's content. If a value is an array, the same tag is repeated once per item. The entire document is always wrapped in one root element so the output is valid XML.

Are special characters escaped?

Yes. Text content escapes ampersand, less-than and greater-than characters so the XML stays well-formed. Strings, numbers, booleans and null values are all supported, and the output is pretty-printed with 2-space indentation.
